"Providing Real Solutions for Elbert County"

To the Editor:

I am writing in support of Jill Duvall for Elbert County Commissioner District 1.
Full Disclosure: Jill is my spouse

That said, I also have had the opportunity to witness the countless hours she has invested in learning the issues that our county commissioners have not been able to effectively manage by attending meetings and being involved in county committees. She has rarely missed a BOCC/county meeting in the past 7 years (out of the 23 years we have lived in Elbert County).

Jill ran 4 years ago against Robert Rowland and received more votes than any Democratic candidate in recent memory. Jill is running again and her message is a simple one:

COMMON SENSE…NOT MORE OF THE SAME.
What she means by that is that we are not going to change the direction of Elbert County by continuing to elect commissioners who come from the same tightly controlled group of the inner circle of the Elbert County Republican Party as the past and present commissioners have come from.

Contrary to some wildly stated posts recently, nothing about national politics can have any impact at the county level.

Quite simply, Commissioners are elected to run the county efficiently; something the “good-ol-boy” network of previous commissioners has not done very well.

It is a simple choice; no need to twist yourself up with circular and ideological arguments: if you want more of the same, vote for Jill’s opponent.

If like me and many bipartisan supporters of Jill, you want needed management skills and practical solutions to turn the county in a completely different direction: vote for JILL DUVALL, Commissioner District 1.
